"The Art Of The Sellout"

Now what ever happened to self respect and having morals as a human in this country? I mean money rules the world in every way but is losing your dignity worth a couple million bucks? Im talking about artist in the hip hop game who sellout and lose total control on what type of music they chose to do. Im not going to say any names because then people who read this would just say Im hating. Now what happens when a record label comes up to that artist and tells him that they will give him two million dollars as long as he gives them all the rights to his music. That meaning they can market him anyway they want even if that includes putting a dildo in his mouth as an album cover. I do understand that money can change the way you live but i suppose it would be harder to live with yourself after the fact. Lets put it like this, would you go on national tv and tell the whole world that you hate your race for ten million dollars? 90% of these "rappers" in the game right now are "sellouts" and that is the main reason they are getting push from their major labels. For those rappers that didn't sellout on themselves are struggling to make a living in the industry because they wont be let in. People wont give them the time of day and its sad because those are the rappers that can give you the most. Lets hope things start to change and the rappers that didn't sellout stay the same and make the music for the greater good and not for the money, cars, and hoes. Until then hip hop is gone.

Why isn't anything pure anymore?

Now what really gets me angry is when you go to the club and the dj isn't even scratching. The music he is playing is pre recorded. Let me be real honest here, everything they play in the clubs these days is scripted. Its a shame because hip hop started with the dj and the beat box. Everything is so robotic and planned out. When is the last time you seen a emcee do a video with a dj scratching the beat and the emcee tearing it apart. The radio station dj's don't even have control over what they play and that's the saddest part because they control 90% of what happens in hip hop. The dj's are the bridge to success and that would make or break a rappers career unless its Tech N9ne. Thats just my opinion and even tho i don't listen to the radio at all the radio is the ear of the people. Can you name commercial artist that are original? Can you name a hit song that was lyrical? Name a rapper that uses his own slang and wordplay. Ok im waiting. All you have to have is a dance concept in your lyrics and a catchy beat and there goes a record deal. Now let me see that lyrical cat that can spit for days get that record deal that would save his life and put food on the table. Thats why you see so many artist selling out these days because they chase the money and forget about where they came from. For the artist that keep it real and do it for the people and not for the executives i have great respect for you guys. Soon people will start to wake up and really start to think about what needs to be done. "Until then Hip Hop is gone"
