For about the past 3 years i've realized something has been off with the world. Music!!! To be more specific hip hop. One of New York's most infamous genres of music. The hip hop/r&b in this present day isn’t what it used to be. More of what we hear now a days are tunes from rapper's that aren’t even from the hood. For the years past artists have gathered from all over in the midst of New York making her their domain. But were are the New York soldiers? What about the vibes from the big apple. The other day I had a convo with my boy mrsplattv and he starting getting into how there are people like us who feel that hip hop isn't what it used to be. Either these are people that don’t voice their opinions or these are people who do and are powerless to change anything. Well I’ve got to say its time something was done about that. Even though some of these non New Yorkers make some good beats, it isn't what we wanna hear. I haven’t heard a hit from the 90's since about 2006, if even that. What are our so called music labels doing to keep the past alive. Nothing! Redman and Methodman are still signed to Def Jams Records and yet the labels don’t push them at all. Why is that? Who knows, but one thing is for sure and that’s the fact that no one makes real music any more thanks to all these southerners or where ever the hell these artists come from. But whether hip hop dies today tomorrow or holds on by a thread I believe theres always a chance to bring the past pack to glory.
