MY MESSAGE

To whoever is reading this thanks for visiting what i love the most and that's the topic of hip hop. Now i spend a lot of my time reading about hip hop and studying the art of it. I have a serious passion for this art of music and i hate to say that what i used to love isn't the same in 2010. I mean i stress about this everyday and it doesn't seem to change anything. It hurts because what i wake up to is hip hop and i still have to pop in old cd's of artist that are dead or aren't really making the same music they made before. Now for the artist that i respect come in a handful and i certainly support those who make the real music and are lyrically insane. I will support hip hop till the day i die and even if i lose my ears ill still buy that album just so i can say look at that new shit!

LEARNZ ALBUM REVIEW (ONE LEARNZ)

ONE
       LEARNZ

     A L B U M

Here is the full written review of the One Learnz album. Im going to get this out the way i know this dude and i fucks with him because of his humble personality and he is a stand up person. This One Learnz album is a 16 track cd that is full of lyricism and dope beats that capture you right away. Im not going to beat around the bush so let me just say there is a couple of boring ass beats and corny hooks. It doesn't take away from the enjoyment but it can get annoying because the album could be going so good then the next track pops up and your finger is on the god damm skip button. The other thing that really bugged me was him talking about which rappers he "fucks with", nobody cares dude i want to hear you spit about shit that matters. Now for the shit that i liked. First of all for the budget that he has the production was top notch. His beats were fire and the beats all complemented his flow and delivery. My head was moving throughout the whole album and he carried them all. His story telling was showcased on the song "are you satisfied". He told a story about a female who was depressed because of her rich fucked up childhood. His flow was perfect for the bass drivin beat and the hook was perfect. That song is a fucking hit if only they pushed this guy that song would be like a club anthem. The lyrics were there on this album and let me tell you learnz lyrically is better than alot of cats. Learnz has lyrics for days and his song writing ability is on another planet. "Yo Learnz yo should ghost write"! Now the most lyrical track was track 14 "its just me" and the hook was hot. Don't get me wrong the album could of used some polishing up but like i said for the budget he has this is top notch. Just imagine if this dude had Dre or Premier? My favorite track on the album was track 7 "nutrition facts" because of the beat and the concept. Im telling you this dude is one of the nicest on the underground scene and all he needs is some airplay and to be put out there. Overall the album is a good one but not a classic but it could have been if he would have shortened it by 6 songs. Good album learnz keep doing you and push yourself and keep putting out new shit. Out of 10 this album gets a 7.3 out of 10. I learned something after playing this album. "One Learnz"

Is Hip Hop Alive?

Now If you look at the link for my site you see the word Hip Hop is gone and that is my trademark and my slogan. Well on July 29 i went to a Joell Ortiz Jay Electronica show and it was amazing. Hip Hop was in the building! You had about 800 people in a room that only fit about 400. I was shocked because in a world where real hip hop isn't supported there was nothing but real Hip Hop fans. There was two performing acts before Joell came out and they both got booed off because they were from the south. Haha well i guess thats harsh but hey we  in new york for christ sakes. Joell came on stage with nothing but applause and praise from his loyal fans and started up the night with his very popular hood anthem "project boy". Then as that was going on who else but dj premier comes out on stage and reps it hard with Joell. Now im not the biggest Gang Starr fan but o yea i miss Guru. Joe Budden then comes out and does a couple of Slaughterhouse songs and rips a mood muzik track. Styles P came out and lets not forget when Shawn Paul walks out on stage and gives all 25 girls in the crowed a heart attack. Then Joell does his famous twinz verse and then Fat Joe walks on stage and rips the twinz along with his new song "haha". As much as i dislike Fat Joe that was pretty sick. To close it out   Joell does his classic Nissan, Honda, Chevy and Jim Jones comes out with Dipset and they all show their love for Joell. Ortiz performed for about 2 hours and it was a classic hip hop show that will be in my memory forever. Jay Electronica then comes out and drops his bomb of lyrical dosage on all 800 of ous. He is truly amazing lyrically. Great show and for that night Hip Hop lived and really showed its roots to me and i was proud to be there. Joell Ortiz and Jay Electronica are here to represent the true meaning of Hip Hop.
